Ponggol Seafood | Sibei Tokgong Lala Beehoon (Review)
Founded in 1969 by Mr. Ting Choon Teng, Punggol Seafood Hock Kee Restaurant quickly attracted crowds with its winning combination of relaxing sea-side ambience, fast efficient service, great tasting Chinese Zi Char seafood dishes, and affordable prices. Having moved several times over the years as the Punggol area was under reclamation, Punggol Seafood Hock Kee Restaurant has since returned to its point of origin in June 2014, and continues to entice crowds to make the journey to the edge of the island.
Food at Punggol Seafood Hock Kee Restaurant is typical Chinese Zi Char, with a heavy focus on seafood dishes. Their lala beehoon is exceptionally good!
This 50 Yrs Old Restaurant @ Punggol, Sells One Of The BEST Lala Beehoon in town!
Small $15.80 (2 to 3 pax), Large $28 (5 to 6 pax)
The beehoon are first wok-charred before being braised in the seafood stock. We had their $15.80 small lala beehoon. The stock is packed with flavours, thick and rich. It also looks more cloudy, not sure whether milk is added. You can also taste a very strong clam broth, and mild peppery flavour. After a few mouth, the dish gets very addictive and you couldn’t stop eating. The beehoon were al dente while the lala were super fresh. Highly recommended!
(With minimum spending $50, customer only needs to pay $1 for the $15.80 Lala Beehoon. Promotion available from Monday to Friday.)
