East Bistro Sembawang -東小馆 – Ultimate Crab 泡饭”Pao Fan” + Dim Sum Review!!!
You can now enjoy a glass of red wine with traditional HK Dim Sum and chill along Killiney – where renowned Chef Tony Wong (having over 2 decades of experience as Lei Garden’s former head chef), has opened yet another East Bistro outlet with a revamp.
Huat ah!! Red décor welcomes you as you step past some Ang Mohs sipping wine at the entrance.
There is a relaxed ambience boasting wood furniture, and even a “drinks” counter, before you step into a more Chinese-style large seating area with comfy chairs.
Get ready to welcome this superb Crab 泡饭 (pao fan), really tok-kong until head also gong. Here it is!!
Along with some ingredients,
Before they dunk it into some seriously umami broth:
Letting the flavours saturate in the sizzling heat, before serving in a claypot and garnishing it with crisp browned rice, salt bae style:
Crab meat is cooked to perfection, comes right off when you bite it.
Love the soup with soaked ingredients, and the charred flavour of the “pao fan” just rounds this dish up so well.
Compliment with some dim sum too!
Char Siew Pao crisp outside, warm and moist inside.
Some Xiao Long Bao goodness.
Wanton done really well in chilli sauce!
This Steam Chicken was real special, because it was so much more flavourful than we expected! Marinated really well.
Apologies for the Salted Egg Croissant that was demolished so fast I couldn’t snap a photo – really stole the show, must try!!! (Check out our Facebook Video here: https://www.facebook.com/damnworthit/videos/783177501873835/)
Way better than the measly Bread Talk one. So here’s a photo of us with Head Chef Tony Wong and the croissant in our happy bellies.
