All day high-tea at this IG worthy cafe
The Hainan Story is proud to launch its first-ever Hainanese high tea set, available all day at this already popular cafe at Hotel Boss! The three-tiered set is priced at S$19.90/pax (min of 2 pax for dine-in).

Expect 2 pieces of assorted cookies sit alongside 2 slices of Swiss Rolls. On rotation, you’ll have fragrant cookies and swiss rolls from Chef Pang who used to helm Antionette so you can be sure he has mad pastry skills! Expect savoury delights such as the Hae Bee Hiam, Ondeh Ondeh & Hainanese Kopi Guyou Cookies. For swiss rolls, look forward to the Hainaese Coconut Pandan, Nanyang Yam Orh Nee, Sea Salt Gula Melaka Kaya or the Premium Belgium Chocolate roll! Great place to bring your grandparents perhaps.
The second tier presents 2 pieces of yibua which i was told by my hainan neighbor that it is really hard to find these days . Yibua is a Hainanese steamed dumpling made of glutinous rice flour dough. Also known as kuih e-oua, it is filled with a palm sugar sweetened mixture of grated coconut, toasted sesame seeds and crushed roasted peanuts, wrapped with sheets of banana leaves pressed into a fluted cup shape, and customarily marked with a dab of red food colouring. As well as honey toast cubes while the bottom tier brings the savouries made up of 2 pieces of Crispy Prawn Fritters, 2 pieces of Hainanese Har Chou, and 4 skewers of Hainanese Yuan Yang Satay! Wash it all down with a choice of Singapore Style hot beverage of coffee or tea.

The popular Hainanese summertime dessert in The Hainan Story serves up a bowl of coconut milk, coconut water, taro balls, red kidney beans, pearl sago, coconut jelly, honey sea coconut, shaved coconut ice, and a frozen ice coconut bear – cute!
